The participants of the course included B.A., M.A. as well as PhD students. The associated partners of the iCamp consortium formed the core of the course:
- University of Murcia, Spain
- University of Huelva, Spain
- Unversity of Sofia, Bulgaria
- Unversity of Oulu, Finland
- University of Zagreb, Croatia
- Teacher Trainging College Bielsko Biala, Poland
In addition, two partners from the iCamp consortium participated in this course: Tallinn University (including Erasmus students, who studied at Tallinn University and enrolled to this course) and Kaunas University of Technology. From the EMIM consortium, one student from Babes-Bolyai University in Romania was represented. In total, 76 students from different countries (Estonia, Finland, Croatia, Spain, Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Romania) enrolled in the course.
Ten facilitators from eight different HEIs in seven countries (figures in parentheses indicating the number of facilitators from the respective institution) were supporting the students during the e-learning course:
- Bulgaria, University of Sofia (1)
- Croatia, University of Zagreb (1)
- Estonia, Tallinn University (2)
- Finland, University of Oulu (1)
- Lithuania, Kaunas University of Technology (1)
- Poland, Teacher Training College Bielsko Biala (1)
- Spain, University of Huelva (1)
- Spain, University of Murcia (2)
In the Moodle wiki, for each of the ten groups, the students could find the facilitator’s name and the link to his/her personal blog. Basically, the students were free to register for one of the groups but with two constraints: the students were encouraged to choose a facilitator not coming from their own country and not more than two students coming from the same country were allowed in the same group. The main roles of the facilitators were to scaffold individual as well as group work by providing timely feedback and advice, to monitor the respective progresses and intervene if required, and to assess the ongoing performances as well as the final product.
