iCamp Trial-3 was carried out as an international, fully online master level course “e-learning” in the spring semester 2008 (March – June). This e-learning course is a part of Tallinn University (http://www.tlu.ee) international master’s program called Interactive Media and Knowledge Environments (http://imke.tlu.ee/). It is an accredited international new media program with all instructions in English. The course has also been offered under the EMIM (European Masters in Interactive Multimedia; http://www.valnet-emim.eu) program. EMIM is a shared offer, a team teaching course for post-graduate studies endorsed by the European Academy of Digital Media. It consists of full online courses offered to both part-time and full-time students via distance learning.
EMIM is constituted by a consortium of six European Higher Learning Institutions (HEIs) in Austria, Estonia, France, Turkey, Romania, and United Kingdom. Each university contributes to the award, with each institution enrolling, administering and conferring the final degree to its own students. Students from the consortium partners can enrol the courses offered by the EMIM consortium free of charge; others have to pay the fee according to the rules set up by the institution, which is responsible for the particular course. EMIM issues certificates in the European Credit Points.
Specifically, Tallinn University, a partner of the iCamp consortium, has agreed to open up the course “e-learning” to the iCamp partners and to several so-called ‘associated’ partners that have been invited to take part in Trial-3. The participants from these HEIs can take part in the course without having to pay any fee.
