Building Blocks

Tools and systems for learning

The iCamp Space concentrates on formal higher education, where actors are distributed over geographic locations, institutions, disciplines, language communities and national educational systems. In such a context communication and interaction is mediated by ICT-s. Therefore, iCamp Space emphases the pedagogy-driven design, meaningful bindings between pedagogical concepts and various technological means, which can be achieved by adaptation of vocabulary, rearrangements of structural components and extension of the overall functionalities of a tool.

iCamp Building Blocks refer to the iCamp compliant TEL systems and tools developed to support learners and facilitators performing in the iCamp Space. The list of selected building blocks is not finite, but as a set of reference implementation of selected open source tools and systems for dealing the iCamp pedagogical challenges. The selection of building blocks is based on the educational design and intervention objectives developed in Workpackage 1 taking at the same time into account the predefined technical requirements and the overall iCamp vision.
